Support Mead School District Arts: Eye 4 Art 2015

EYE 4 ART is a nonprofit organization with a mission of supporting and encouraging the creative visual arts for schools within the MEAD SCHOOL DISTRICT. We have a once a year, one day community event, EYE 4 ART, that occurs this year Saturday, March 28, 2015 and takes place at Mead High School from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

This is the 9th EYE 4 ART event, but the first with a focus on giving the community and public an artistic, educational, fun opportunity and connection with the visual arts and local fine artists.

-This year’s EYE 4 ART has selected 25 professional fine artists from the community that will be showing and selling their artwork. Gina Freuen, Gordon Wilson, Karen Mobley, Jill Smith, John Blessent, and Dian Zahner are committed to the event. 25% of the artist’s sales are donated to EYE 4 ART.

-Many of the artists will be demonstrating techniques in their media as well as Deanna Camp and Carol Schmauder presenting a workshop on Marketing Your Art.

-There will be Make and Take booths for all ages creating wire rings, ceramic art, and acrylic painting.

-Many of the artists have donated artwork for the Silent Auction including a Harold Balazs painting from Art Spirit Gallery of Couer d’Alene. Gordon Wilson will donate a painting he will quick finish during the event. Kris Howell is donating one of her jewelry pieces.

-Student artwork from elementary through high school in all media will be on exhibit along with some student clay wheel throwing and raku demonstrations. The high school student artwork is juried with gift certificates from Spokane Art Supply and Spokane Art School.

-Teams from Mt. Spokane and Mead High Schools will compete in a two hour long Draw Off demonstrating their collaborative and technical skills.

-Food trucks will be on site, 3 Ninjas and the Bistro Box will be selling and serving up great meals.

-Mirimba music will be provided and played during the event.
