What a magical run!
After securing a berth in the ‘Elite 8’ at the Tacoma Dome, the Wildcat Girls Basketball team made the most of their first-ever trip to the state tournament.
Opening Thursday night against the #13 ranked team in the nation, our girls gave Bellevue High School all they could handle. Losing by 9 points, the game was in reach the entire way, and this effort set the stage for the remainder of the weekend.
Wins over Prairie and Edmonds-Woodway sealed a 4th place finish and secured a first ever basketball trophy for our school. Additionally, the girls set a new record for most 3-pointers made in a game and tournament. Making 12 “3’s” against Edmonds-Woodway sealed the game record and a three-game total of 31 “3’s” is a new state record!
Due to their incredible performances, junior Jaidyn Lyman was named to the first-team All-Tournament team as published by the Seattle Times. Senior Jordan Smith capped a memorable senior season by being named to the second-team all-tournament roster.
Congratulations to our girls and Coach David Pratt! What a season!
