Academic enrichment will undergo a major change this year. This is mainly a result of the change in our schedule, the district re-instituting activity buses at 5:30 p.m., and the need for interventions to support our at risk learners.
Academic enrichment will begin starting Monday, September 22. It will be held in the library and will run from 2:50 p.m. until 4:50 p.m. Mondays will be supervised by a science teacher, Tuesdays will be supervised by an English teacher, Wednesdays will be supervised by a social studies teacher, and Thursdays will be supervised by a math teacher. Students attending academic enrichment may choose to attend on their own, be assigned by a teacher or an administrator, or attend seeking credit retrieval.
Students who are assigned academic enrichment or who are seeking credit retrieval must attend for the entire two-hour time period. The classes that students can obtain credit retrieval for are only the classes offered during summer school using approved and augmented summer school curriculum. Students can work on credit retrieval classes only on the day that a teacher in that curriculum area is supervising that subject. Students successfully completing a credit retrieval class during academic enrichment will receive a pass grade.
